Killer Croc Character design
Character design work for a fan project set in the universe of DC's Batman, focusing mainly on the nightmares of the younger members of the 'bat family'. Comics are a constant inspiration of mine; finding new artists and writers takes on established, loved or forgotten characters, modern day myths to steal the parlance of the Unbreakable movies. Killer Croc; a man with a hyper-specific skin condition and some creative abusers; has always seemed underutilised so here is my attempt to give him some spotlight, even if its just in my sketchbook.
I wanted to create a killer croc that fit the characters tortured heritage in a circus, with references to 'freak show' taxidermy, Romani lineage and a clear display that this had been done to him.
Dollmaker design, I wanted them to be simple, clinical and yet have little details that pull back to that idea of dolls.
